Sri Kuala Lumpur
Primary School has been involved in the International School-to-School
Experience (I.S.S.E.) since 2000 and is the only school in
Malaysia involved in this unique program for primary school
children.
What iS ISSE?
ISSE is a unique program for primary school children that
provides for the exchange of thoughts and ideas through
face-to-face contact with children from other countries
around the world. It is non-profit, non-political and non-religious
in nature. The program gives all primary school children
the opportunity to experience and understand other cultures
on a first-hand basis.
The objectives of ISSE are to allow primary school students
to interact with and learn from other children of the world,
thereby fostering peace and understanding on a global basis.
Some of the countries currently involved in ISSE include
– Australia, Mexico, Japan, U.S.A, India and Malaysia
We have been members of this exciting program
for eight years and during that period we have been fortunate
to host students from many countries including Australia,
India, USA, Mexico, and Japan.

In 2008 we have been matched with Regency
Park Primary School, Melbourne, Australia where we are hosting
five students and two teachers. The chaperones and students
stay with their hosting families, attend school each day,
sharing their life, culture and they performed very colourful
and informative cultural show. The students and their hosts
visit sights around Kuala Lumpur including Putrajaya, Istana
Negara, National Museum, National Monument, KLCC, Batu Caves,
Selangor Pewter, Batik Factory, and many other interesting
places. Many of the host families take the opportunity to
show the visitors our Malaysian landscape, cultures and way
of life. The program is a wonderful way to bring our community
together and ensure our visitors have a rewarding and interesting
time in Malaysia.
A return visit will be scheduled in November
2008 where a group of our standard five and six students and
staff will represent their country when they travel to Australia.
Our delegation will experience life in Australia and they
will understand this culture on a first-hand basis. These
are experiences that students never forget.
