22nd Asia & Pacific Band Directors’ Association Conference

Our Secondary School Wind Orchestra were in Singapore to take part in the 22nd Asia and Pacific Band Directors’ Association (APBDA) Conference and were delighted to attend the grand opening ceremony held at the School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA). On the way, we even caught a glimpse of the iconic Merlion — a true symbol of Singapore!

On the 23rd of August, our wind orchestra had the privilege of performing twice: once at the breathtaking Gardens by the Bay, and later at the prestigious SOTA Concert Hall.

Our musicians also had the pleasure of a band exchange with the talented musicians of Maris Stella High School.

This special experience reminded us of how music is a universal language — uniting us through melody and rhythm.

Finally, on our journey back to Kuala Lumpur, our Wind Orchestra had the wonderful opportunity to stop by in Johor for an exchange with the 1st Johor Bahru Company, The Boys’ Brigade Malaysia.

Beyond the rehearsals and performances, our musicians forged friendships, discovering new perspectives on music and sharing the joy of making music together.

This wonderful experience for band members will stay with us for many years to come and we look forward to many future collaborations.
