The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (QCEC)

The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (QCEC) is the world’s oldest international schools’ writing contest, established by the Royal Commonwealth Society in 1883.

The theme for 2025 was “Our Commonwealth Journey,” celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Commonwealth. The competition received a record 53,434 entries from 54 member countries.

Past winners have gone on to become leaders in their fields, including Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mei Fong, and renowned author, the late Elspeth Huxley CBE.
